By: Katy Hunt

Come one, come all as we explore yet another exciting spotlight…but this time, shining on one of our very own partnered vendors, NuNarrtiv Films! We were able to connect with the awesome founder of NuNarrtiv, Steven Green, to give us the scoop on his unique business and what sets him apart from other wedding videographers. If you’re ready to redefine your definition of wedding videography and explore a highly creative and dedicated vendor…please read our interview with Steven below!

Tell us a little bit about yourself, and how you decided to get into the videography business.

Hey, I'm Stevie G, filmmaker out of Deptford, New Jersey. And I started my filmmaking career about six years ago when I was managing singers and songwriters. My one client, Ant Clemons, decided to move to LA before he made it big time and became a Grammy-winning artist. I decided to stay on the East Coast and started managing other artists. They wanted me to edit some of their vlogs for them, so I started editing for them. And then later on...I was asked to do a video for my church. So I had to learn how to use my sister's camera within a week. I shot it, I edited it. It was cool for what it was, but some people from my church that own businesses, they wanted some videos. So I started my career doing that. And since then, I've been able to shoot behind the scenes with Justin Timberlake, direct for Lexus and Fader Magazine, shoot for Puma, etc. So yeah, that's a little about me!

What are the perks of hiring a wedding videographer?

The perks of hiring a wedding videographer are that you're able to have someone document the happiest day of your life. And obviously nine times out of ten, you're going to have a photographer, but a lot of that is going to be “staged” photos. Whereas with the video, you're able to hear and see your different family members, your best friends, your grandmothers, your grandfathers, great uncles, aunts, the list goes on and on. So it's very momentous for you to be able to look back and see the joy that's on those older relatives’, younger relatives’, friends’ and families’ faces. It is just amazing to look back and see how elated they are to see you get married, and to see you start off the rest of your life. It's amazing to be able to see behind the scenes of that as opposed to something that's just still. You're going to be able to see the story behind those still pictures.

How would you describe your videography style?

I would like to describe my wedding filmmaking style as reality TV style or documentary style. It's really visceral, behind the scenes. You're gonna see the “real” of the day. You're gonna be able to hear the jokes, and see all the tears. There's nothing about it that's super slow-mo. It's everything! You're gonna be able to get the highs, hopefully no lows, but if there are lows, we're gonna be able to capture that and the resolve of those lows. With my storytelling, you're gonna be able to see the beginning of the day, from tears that are running down your face while getting ready, to those shots that are gonna be taken with the groomsmen. It's very special, and your wedding film will be very special to me!

What does a day in the life look like for you?

A day in the life of StevieG? It varies, depending on what I have to do. I could be in the house all day editing, might step out to go to the gym and walk my dog. I could be out on a shoot. It really depends on what my client load looks like for that week. But I do like to relax when I can, hang out with my fiancé. And yeah, catch a couple of naps when I can. LOL.

What's your favorite part of a wedding day?

My favorite part of the wedding day is the reception. I enjoy every aspect of the day. But being on that dance floor, I get to let loose a little bit. I get to unbutton a couple of my top buttons and I go out there with you guys! It's like you're getting a POV of a person on the dance floor with you. So it's going to be up close and personal. People love it. I specifically love it because it's very fun.

What is something special you're able to offer your clients?

I have several different packages. I have the typical slow motion cinematic package, to my Netflix style package. And I think that's something different, where you're going to be getting multiple people mic'd up, obviously the bride and groom, but you can also get the best man, bridesmaid, mom, dad, etc. Also, if you want me to shoot the dress shopping, bridal party, bachelor party, bachelorette party, I'll be able to do that within that Netflix style to get the full story and perspectives!

Tell us a fun fact about yourself!

Fun fact about me is when I was younger, I used to be a Campbell's Soup and TastyCake model on the boxes and promos! 😅
